About Andrea

I have almost 15 years of counseling experience both in private practice and in the public school system. Working as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Alaska, I have counseled with adolescents and their families, individuals, and couples. In the public schools I created and taught 'Human Relations as a Group Process' for 10 years. This class met four times per week and covered discussions and activities related to communication skills, anger management, stress management, goal-setting, making safer sexual decisions, relationships, addictive behaviors. I have worked as an individual, family, and group counselor in the school system for 10 years. In addition to private practice counseling, I have been a high school teacher of mathematics and science, health and an adjunct professor of psychology, human sexuality, ecology, creative thinking, and critical thinking.

I have a Ph.D. (International University of Professional Studies, Maui, Hawaii, an unaccredited university) in professional coaching. I have also trained with Eric Maisel on Creativity Coaching for Artists and Writers. Love of learning is a passion of mine; I am usually always taking one class or another to complement my previous training. My professional training at the Bachelors and Masters Levels in conjunction with my own diverse life experiences, has enabled me to help others to develop the awareness and skills to uncover their precious uniqueness, acceptance of self, and goals to make new, exciting, and soul-satisfying changes in their lives. I invite you to call me for a free initial 15 min. phone consultation to see if my counseling approach will resonate with you.
